The Duchess of Gloucester paid a visit to Charities House this afternoon to recognise the good work of Family Centre and Scars.

Accompanied by a motorcade, the Duchess arrived just after 2.30pm along with Governor George Fergusson and his wife, Margaret.

She spent a couple of minutes greeting and chatting with charity staff, including Family Centre executive director Martha Dismont and Scars chairman Jon Brunson before being given a tour of the Point Finger Road facility.

The Duchess is the Colonel-in-Chief of the Royal Bermuda Regiment is on the Island to take part in the weekend events marking its 50th anniversary.

She was last in Bermuda five years ago and has several functions to attend during her visit, including the Bermuda Tattoo tonight at the Keep Yard in the Royal Naval Dockyard.
