Teach our children about horticulture

Career option: students should be taught about horticulture as well as trades such as carpentry, a reader suggests (File photograph)

Dear Sir,

Schools should be encouraging students to learn about horticulture and such to better themselves once they finish school.

With jobs including motor mechanics, plumbing and so on, having students learning about such trades early ought to help them once they graduate.

OK, yes, students are taught carpentry, electrical and other trades in middle/senior schools, but what about horticulture?

What schools are allowing children to know about such a field?

Did you know there are women who deal with horticulture as well? Why not start such ones out early — male or female?
