Cricket games to start hour earlier

Sport Staff Fifty overs cricket matches will start an hour early for the rest of the season to accommodate the early sunset times.

Early start: All 50 over cricket games will start an hour early for the remainder of the season because of the earlier sunset times.

All games, including Saturday’s Champion of Champions match, will begin at 10am. The Premier and First Division games have also been brought forward along with the promotion/relegation playoff game on September 19.

Willow Cuts will meet Western Stars in the Champion of Champions match at St David’s as the competition makes a return after more than ten years, with the winners meeting Cleveland next Saturday. Cleveland will play Somerset on Saturday in a make-up match before taking on Flatts on Sunday.

Bailey’s Bay will play St David’s in Sunday’s other Premier Division encounter. St George’s take on PHC at Wellington Oval in the lone First Division match on Sunday.
