Cristobal’s winds stayed below hurricane force

Hurricane Cristobal yesterday brought Bermuda increased winds, choppy water and little else as it passed by the Island yesterday.
Cristobal passed more than 200 miles to the Island’s northwest yesterday morning, and is expected to continue moving away from the Island over the next few days.
Winds on the Island were recorded reaching 28 knots (52kph) over the course of the day, but remained below storm or hurricane force. While the Hurricane was a non-event on the Island, the system has been blamed for seven deaths internationally through flooding in the Caribbean and rip currents on the US East Coast.
