Dillas and Mansell lift another Four Ball title
Jarryd Dillas and Nick Mansell successfully defended their Bermuda Amateur Four Ball Championship title at Port Royal yesterday and they did it in style.The 2011 champions led from start to finish, eventually cruising to victory by five shots over Robert Vallis and Fraser Hunt.They were the only pair to put together three rounds in the 60s in the 54-hole tournament, carding 69-66-68 for a 203 total.Vallis and Hunt finished with two rounds of 67 but were left to rue a disappointing first round of 74. They ended on 208 with the team of Rod Forrest and Kirk Viehl two shots back on 210.In the ladies’ event, defending champion Elizabeth Parsons collected her second straight win playing alongside Tracy Burgess.A year ago Parsons won with Ebonie Burgess and this time she and Tracy Burgess had to work hard to claim the championship, coming from five shots back to pip Katrin Burnie and Wendy Salvia and Kathy Lloyd Hines and Mary Kay Terceira by one shot.The winners put together the best round of the week yesterday a 76 compared to Burnie’s and Salvia’s last round of 81.Parson and Burgess recorded a final total of 244.Burnie and Salvia took second place on retrogression.In the net division, Garth Fleming and David Souter (202) took first place honours, beating David Alderdice and Andrew Macfarlane by one shot.Third place went to Jeffrey Lindo and Leroy Burch, five strokes back.Ladies’ net winners were Tracy Nash and Cindy Hardart who carded 212, seven shots ahead of Julie Delhunty and Melinda Frith (219). Third place went to Sylvia Tavares and Donna Jones (222).
