Island trio 51st at Worlds
Bermuda’s Jarryd Dillas, Will Haddrell and Fraser Hunt finished 51st at the World Amateur Golf Championships in Antalya, Turkey with a score of 27-over par 547.Dillas was the Island’s top performer, shooting an overall score of four-over par, while Haddrell carded 12-over and Hunt 13-over in the 54-hole tournament.The Islanders were tied in 37th position after a round one score of three-over par 145 before shooting 152 in second round and 160 in the third and final round yesterday.With a record-setting score of 24-under-par 404, the USA won the weather-shortened Championships by five strokes over Mexico at the par-71 Antalya Golf Club claiming the Eisenhower Trophy for the 14th time.A total of 72 nations a competed at this year’s Championships.Several prominent golfers, including Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson and Jack Nicklaus, played at Championship before turning professional.
