Man fined $300 for possessing drug equipment
A 57-year-old man was fined $300 in Magistrates’ Court this morning for possessing drug equipment.
Richard Allen, of no fixed abode, admitted having steel wool, a miniature plastic bottle and an empty black pen in his possession in Pembroke on November 29 last year.
The court heard that Allen was arrested after police officers were tipped off about suspicious activity in the area.
They saw Allen holding the items and as he was being arrested, he said he “was getting high”.
The items tested positive for cocaine, which Allen admitted to smoking during a Police interview.
Allen was given a $300 fine by magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo.
