Action among the Bermuda Junior Golf Association last week saw Andrew Trott take Group Five honours, firing an impressive four over par 75 at Port Royal.
Trott beat by four shots Aaron James, who carded 79, while back in third place was R.J. Pachai on 84.
In Group Four, Oliver Pitcher led the way with an 82, one stroke better than Ryan Mello, while Matthew Durrant placed third on 85.
Playing over nine holes, Scott Roy managed 40 to seize the top spot in Group Three, followed by David Smith, four back on 44, while Nick Dunkle's 47 earned him third in the section.
At Belmont, Ted Terceira won his group with a 61 registered over 13 holes, a score that easily beat Jarryd Dillas' 67 total. Sean Outerbridge placed third on 70.
Finally, in Group One Steve Roy took honours with a nine hole score of 43, barely defeating Tim Burland on retrogression. Trevor Mills claimed third on 45.
HOCKEY HOC Bermuda High School's `X' team usurped Saltus in taking this year's Stickwork Team Championship at National Sports Club.
BHS amassed 456 points among six skill categories, to beat off challenges from four rival teams.
Forced to settle for second were the 1996 winners, totalling 423 points, while third were BHS `Y' team on 390, followed by Northlands Sugar Team (339) and Northlands Honey Team (309).
The competition saw 54 girls testing their hockey prowess at six different hockey skills, while added was a goalkeeping competition, with points garnered at each activity contributing to the team total.
Individually Northlands' Lindsey Gaugain topped the board with 81 points, followed by schoolmate Shajan Palmer (69) and Claire Humphrey of Saltus (66).
The goalkeeping competition witnessed Abbie Goodwin of BHS place first with 95 points. Tying for second were BHS' Kelly Winfield and Jenna Robinson of Saltus, both tallying 90 points.
ROAD RACING RUN Primary schoolchildren will take the spotlight in this Sunday's Ocean Spray 3K road race series.
The event, organised by Saltus Junior School, is aimed at children in primary levels four, five, six and seven.
The races get underway from Saltus field, starting at 2.00 p.m. Race numbers should be collected at the field between 1.00 and 1.45 p.m.
