Murder-accused’s DNA found at shooting scene, court told

David Cox denies premeditated murder

The DNA of a man accused of shooting Raymond (Yankee) Rawlins was found on a baseball cap recovered from the scene, a jury heard today.David Cox’s DNA was also found on the inside of a latex glove found in a trash bin near where the getaway car was foundThe evidence came from forensic expert Candy Zuleger, called as a witness by the Crown in the case against Mr Cox, 31, from Smith’s.Mr Cox is accused of being one of two gunmen who shot Mr Rawlins, 47, as he walked into the Spinning Wheel nightclub on Court Street, Pembroke, in the early hours of August 9 2010.Police recovered the baseball cap from the street outside the venue. The latex glove was found during a search of a house near the junction of Glebe and St Monica’s roads in Pembroke.The green car said to have been used as a getaway car was also found in that area.Cox denies premeditated murder and using a gun to commit murder. He is the only person on trial.
