Bermuda Triangle to be focus of movies

The infamous Bermuda Triangle runs from the Island to Florida and Puerto Rico

A series of major films about the infamous Bermuda Triangle are reportedly being developed, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The publication recently reported that Skydance Productions — the company behind the upcoming movie Terminator Genisys — has hired two writers to rewrite an original screenplay about the region.

The Bermuda Triangle, which stretches between Bermuda, Florida and Puerto Rico, is also said to be the focus of an untitled Universal film, with the script being worked on by the writers of the 2014 film Ouiji. It is also widely reported to serve as a plot point for Disney’s upcoming fifth film in the Pirates of the Caribbean series.

The Bermuda Triangle sprang to international attention in the 1950s after aircraft and ships, including the USS Cyclops, were lost in the region.

The suggestion of otherworldly or even extraterrestrial causes for the disappearances have been broadly disproved but the region is still associated with the supernatural in popular culture.
