A Pembroke woman who admitted stealing $30 worth of meat from a supermarket was given a conditional discharge in Magistrates’ Court this morning.

Glenda Crockwell, 58, pleaded guilty to stealing chicken, codfish, beef stir-fry and steaks, worth a total of $30.75, from the Shelly Bay MarketPlace in Hamilton Parish on April 26.

The court heard that Crockwell was seen placing the four packages of meat in her purse by the store’s security guard, who approached her as she left the store.

Crockwell admitted to taking the items and was escorted back into the store to wait for police to arrive.

Magistrate Archibald Warner gave Crockwell a 12-month conditional discharge on the condition that she commit no further offences in the next year.
