New stamp wins Army blessing

Acting Postmaster General Velda Smith recently rolled off the first cancellation stamp using slogan die to commemorate the century of service to Bermudians by the Salvation Army.

The stamp has the logo "There is a World of Hope With Jesus Christ'' and it will appear on every letter mailed in Bermuda from October 21 to October 31.

Major Wilson Noble, of the Salvation Army, said: "The cancellation stamp is a great tribute to the relationship and appreciation for the great work of the Army in Bermuda.'' The Army will continue with its celebrations with a Congress gathering from October 24 to October 27 with activities for all ages.
