Air Care boss Platt to retire

The general manager of Air Care Limited, Robert Platt, is to retire at the end of this month after 19 years with the company.

He will be succeeded as general manager by Brendan Stones.

“We thank Robert for his dedicated service and wish him well as he begins an exciting new chapter in his life.

“Under his leadership, Air Care has earned a well-deserved reputation for excellence with regard to its products and services, as well as employee satisfaction,” said Michael Daniel, president and chief officer of AG Holdings, the holding company of Ascendant Group Limited’s non-utility operating businesses.

He continued: “We are pleased to welcome Brendan as the new general manager, and look forward to the new ideas and perspectives that he will undoubtedly bring to the business, as we continue to build on Air Care’s success.”

Mr Stones, who has been Air Care mechanical engineer since 2009. He was seconded to BCM McAlpine, during 2011-2014 to serve as mechanical engineer for the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital Acute Care Wing development.

Prior to joining Air Care, Mr Stones was with Laing O’Rourke, a UK-based international engineering and construction company.

Mr Stones is a Bermudian and studied at Saltus Grammar School. He received a BSc (Hons) in mechanical engineering from Loughborough University, England, in 2002. He is a chartered mechanical engineer, and a Bermuda-registered professional engineer.
