Women’s ‘A’ DivisionRavens 2Wildcats 1Ravens’ Megan Troake and Emma Norman were both on target in their side’s win over Wildcats.Troake gave Ravens the lead in the 22nd minute with the only goal of the half, before Norman doubled the lead in the 36th.Wildcats’ Susanna Almeida executed a penalty corner in the 56th minute but that would be as close as they would come.Swifts 1Swallows 5Swifts paid the penalty for only fielding 10 players in this match which was dominated by Swallows.Maria Dobinson scored in the sixth minute, and the lead was then doubled when Shannon Carlin grabbed a second.In the second half Dobinson scored her second goal of the game in the 46th, while Jennifer Chisnall was on target for Swallows’ fourth goal in the 53rd.Swifts got one back in the 57th minute with a goal by Ryanne Bardgett.With one minute left in the match, Lisa LeBlanc finished the scoring.Women’s ‘B’ DivisionSwifts 3Swallows 2Ryan Bardgett scored the winner as Swifts beat Swallows.Bardgett broke the deadlock in the 28th minute.Less than a minute later, however, the scores were level when Swallows Jennifer Chisnall took a free hit and went into the Swifts circle unopposed and struck a powerful shot.In the 44th minute Swallows’ Kayla Kellman put her side in the lead, but again the equaliser came soon after when Iman Smith scored from a penalty corner with a shot into the bottom of the net in the 55th.Two minutes later Smith again went on a mazy dribble and passed to Pearman who found Bardgett who smashed a shot at the goal with the ball deflecting off a defender’s stick and looping into the goal to give the Swifts the win.Bluebirds 3Cardinals 0Laura Bardgett scored twice as Bluebirds beat Cardinals.Bardgett opened the scoring in the 13th minute when she picked up the rebound from a save by goalkeeper Holly Augustus off a shot by Sarah Smith to end the first half 1-0.In the 43rd minute it was Smith’s deflected shot on goal that led to Bluebirds’ second.The initial shot was stopped by Augustus but the deflection, which was unseen at first by both teams, was slipped in by Maria Harris who managed to pick up the rebound for Bluebirds’ second.A solo run by Bardgett in the 56th minute sealed the victory when she cracked a shot into the side of the goal.Ravens 4Longtail Canaries 1Georgia Harris scored a brace as Ravens beat Longtail Canaries.Ravens’ Kristina Viera opened scoring in the 18th minute from a field goal, but it was the much improved Longtail Canaries who would level matters in the 30th minute through Catherine Godet.Tracy Stewart made it 2-1 in the 39th before Harris put the match out of reach, striking in the 52nd and 62nd minutes.Canaries 1Swifts 2Ryanne Bardgett’s double was enough to get Swifts the win over Canaries.Bardgett opened the scoring in the second minute with a reverse stick shot from the top of the circle.Against the run of play a lacklustre Swifts’ defence allowed Canaries to pull one back with a neat deflection executed by Kirstie Jones in the 19th minute.The winner came in the 29th when Bardgett picked up a Canaries 16 yard hit and rounded the Canaries’ goalkeeper to put Swifts back in front.
