Week of the Young Child
The Week of the Young Child opened today on the steps of the City Hall in Hamilton, with musical selections by schoolchildren, also there is a planned series of events with the theme ‘celebrating our youngest learners,’ put on by the Bermuda Association for the Education of Young Children (BAEYC) in conjunction with Child Development Programme. A ‘Family fun evening’ in Victoria Park from 4pm to 7pm is scheduled for Wednesday, while on Thursday participating schools will have ‘play dates’. ‘Wear the rainbow’ is the event scheduled for Friday, where students from participating schools are encouraged to wear a colour from the rainbow because: ‘Our future is bright!’ say the organizers.(Photos by Nicola Muirhead)
