Mayor of Hamilton William Frith introduced the first two bicycles to the Police Force at City Hall yesterday.

The Corporation of Hamilton has donated one of the two new Trek bikes that will be used by Parish and Reserve Constables.

Mr. Frith said: "We're very happy to participate in this programme and assist the Police in better policing of the city.'' Corporation of Hamilton secretary Roger Sherratt explained that the idea has been tested in St. George's and has proved successful as the bikes allow Police to be mobile while keeping in close contact with the public.
