What and when was your first ever investment?
1971 - an odd lot in shares of Vail Associates. I had visited Vail in Colorado and discovered the town was actually a publicly traded company!

Yes
What was the best (most successful) investment you ever made?
Until recently, shares in AIG.
What was the worst (least successful) investment you ever made?
Australian bonds which went to zero after the crash of 1987.
What was the longest investment you ever made?
Bank of Bermuda stock. I've been a continuous owner for nearly 30 years.
What was the shortest investment you ever made?
A day trade no doubt, but I can't remember what it would have been.
Most memorable investing moment?
Capitalising and issuing shares in Kast Investment Management in 1991.
Biggest missed opportunity?
Bermuda real estate.
What would you never invest in?
A sure thing.
