A 26-year-old Southampton man has pleaded guilty to possessing cocaine but must decide whether he faces his charges in the drug treatment court.
Desmond Mills will have the opportunity to participate in three observations before deciding whether to take advantage of the service.
If Mr Mills successfully completes a drug treatment programme he could have his conviction squashed as he has no previous convictions.
The court heard that Mr Mills was found in possession of 0.20 grams of the illegal substance on October 31 in Southampton.
He was released on bail of $1,000 with one like surety and is due to appear for mention on March 11.
