House: Silent tributes to former legislators

Vincent Bridgewater

The House of Assembly will henceforth mark the passing of former legislators with a minute’s silence, under a show of respect proposed by Speaker Randy Horton.

Members of Parliament duly stood in silence in memory of Vincent Bridgewater, who represented Paget West in Parliament from 1980 to 1983 and served in the Senate for the United Bermuda Party.

Calling it “something different, something that has never been done before”, Mr Horton said he wished to see respects paid each time a past member of the House died.
