Shares of Ascendant Group and Bermuda Aviation Services advanced on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index, helping to lift the index to 1,374.90, up 3.51 points (0.26 per cent).

Utilities group Ascendant saw its shares improve by 40 cents (7.4 per cent) to close at $5.80 after 16,308 were traded.

Bermuda Aviation Services was lifted one cent (0.4 per cent) to $2.62 after 10,000 shares were exchanged.

The only other activity was the trading of 47,675 shares of Butterfield Bank, which did not alter the closing price of $2.00.

The total number of shares traded was 73,983, representing a value of $212,902.80.

The BSX Insurance Index rose 19.27 points (1.24 per cent) to close at 1,572.69.
