What we're reading
A past time that costs little is sharing the joy of reading, and the best way to guarantee an enjoyable read is to have a book recommended by others. Here four Middle 2 students share their recommendations:
"Cam Jansen and the Green School Mystery" by David A. Adler is a mystery about recycling at a school. During the first week of school, the principal asks students to bring in empty soda cans. The week was to encourage students to recycle. The school wanted to make enough money to buy things for the students. I would recommend this book because it is funny. I like things that are green and I like mysteries" – Jahlae Raynor
"Begging for Change" by Sharon G. Flake is a great fiction book, teaching you about friendship and trust. This book is about a young girl named Raspberry Hill who lives in the projects with her mom. Raspberry's mom, Ms. Hill, is hit over the head with a pipe by a local bully, Shiketa. As she her mom recovers, Raspberry tries to stay away from her drug-addicted dad. I enjoyed this book because I love books about drama and friendship. If you like books about friendship and trust, this may be the one for you" – Cree Lottimore
I read the book "The Secret of Shark Reef" by William Arden. It is based on characters created by Robert Arthur. The story is about a group of boys who help to solve a mystery. The story involves a sunken submarine, a shark reef and a dropped box. Want to know what happens? Get the book!" – Maximillian Stirling,
The book I am reading is called "Invisible Boy" by Jerdine Nolen. This book is about a boy named Justin Matthews. He wants to turn invisible. His parents don't pay attention to him because he is very irresponsible. He needs to do a project for the school science fair. Can you imagine what happens when Justin steals an invisibility potion? I'll read more and let you know" – Aaron Holdipp
