Man denies motorcycle theft

A Paget man denied taking a motorcycle without consent and stealing a licence plate when he appeared in Magistrates’ Court this morning.

Jokeem Richardson, 20, also pleaded not guilty to fraudulently using a stolen licence plate, failing to stop for police and assaulting two police officers.

The court heard that all of the offences allegedly took place on December 30 last year in Devonshire.

Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo granted $3,000 bail with a like surety, and set a trial date for April 27.

Richardson, however, pleaded guilty to driving without a licence and speeding at 64kph on August 8 last year.

Mr Tokunbo fined him total of $450 for both offences and gave him 12 demerit points.
