The Department of Public Transportation has advised the public that as a result of a road traffic collision on South Road in Southampton, near Horseshoe Bay Road and Lighthouse Hill, buses that travel on route seven are experiencing delays.

Police earlier reported that a police land cruiser has veered off the road and over an embankment on South Road in Southampton.

The incident took place at 1.15pm this afternoon, and members of the public helped to extricate the officer from his vehicle. He was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital where he was treated for his injuries and he has no been released.

Police had cordoned off the area from Horseshoe Bay Road to Lighthouse Hill and asked that drivers travelling that route choose alternate routes.

Police also thanked members of the public who assisted the officer and are appealing for witnesses.
