He jumped a high wall behind the court building at around 12.45 p.m. on Wednesday and ran off, heading north on Court Street.
VIOLENCE DISCUSSED GVT Violence discussed Social workers from Bermuda's Child and Family services and a number of other community workers are training this week to learn how to deal with aggressive and violent youth, Government Information Services yesterday announced.
The week-long programme is being conducted by Dr. Ross Atkinson and Ms Kathy Sutter of the University of Oklahoma's National Resource Center for Youth Services.
One of the primary aims of the workshop is to train staff to use non-physical strategies to manage and take control of aggressive or confrontational situations.
The training will help social workers to encourage youths to verbalise their anger instead of acting out through violent behaviour. Staff will also learn to alternate strategies that avoid punitive measures or engaging in power struggles.
