The women of ABC’s ‘The View’ gave the Island’s “phenomenal” Bermuda Perfumery a publicity windfall on their show yesterday.Top US travel writer Peter Greenberg, having named the Bermuda Perfumery in St. George’s as the best place in the world for perfume in his new book, “The Best Places for Everything”, appeared on the popular morning talk show to promote it.Co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck specifically asked him about the best place for perfume, to which he replied: “Well everybody thinks Paris ... but once again, surprise, surprise! This is Bermuda!“It is a wonderful perfumery in Bermuda in St George’s and they do all their own blending there — you get to go visit them, watch them do it, they will even make a scent for you, it’s phenomenal. We’ve got some here, you should actually take a whiff, it’s unreal.”Both Ms Hasselbeck and Sherri Shepherd opened and smelled some of the bottles of Lili Bermuda fragrances on air, both appearing to praise the scents. The glass bottles of Bermuda fragrance stayed displayed on the host’s table for the remainder of the segment. The segment was also accompanied by several photos of the Bermuda Perfumery and a google map of St George’s.At one point, co-host Joy Behar asked: “Can’t you get all these perfumes in New York in a department store?”But, prompting laughs from Ms Hasselbeck and Whoopi Goldberg, Mr Greenberg shot back: “You could, but you get to go to Bermuda at the same time ... Hello!”And he added: “So you travel just, what, between Madison and Fifth?”The Bermuda Perfumery was mentioned along with only a handful of Mr Greenberg’s other tips, including the “best places” for foliage, scenic drives, food, and medical tourism.Author Mr Greenberg is the travel editor for CBS News and he’s also known as “the travel detective”.“It is the best feeling in the world to have travel guru Peter Greenberg speak so highly about the Bermuda Perfumery on prime time US National Television,” Bermuda Perfumery owner-operator Isabelle Ramsay-Brackstone said yesterday. “Bermuda is a gem, so are its perfumes. I am very proud of showcasing our products overseas.”The mention on ‘The View’ followed Mr Greenberg’s appearance last month on CBS, in which he also praised the Bermuda Perfumery and in particular Mrs Ramsay-Brackstone.He praised the company’s blending of its perfumes “from the natural scents of the flowers of the Island”.Mrs Ramsay-Brackstone said the line of Lili Bermuda fragrances are exclusively sold on the Island at the Bermuda Perfumery and at a few retailers. They are also available online at www.lilibermuda.com.* To view the clip click here http://theview.abc.go.com/video/view-travel-tips-part-1
