A man serving a 25-year prison sentence was yesterday accused of having cannabis in jail.Quincy Brangman, 33, denied one count of possessing cannabis in an increased penalty zone, specifically Westgate Correctional Facility.Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner questioned if bringing the matter to court was cost-effective as Brangman is already serving a lengthy sentence for attempting to murder Nathan Darrell.Crown counsel Garrett Byrne said a guilty verdict might not have a great impact on Brangman’s current incarceration but could deter others.Mr Warner adjourned the matter until May 23 for mention.
