Townhouse plans given go-ahead
townhouses has been given the green light.
Two Rock Development's plans for the site at Boss's Cove Road will see the slip removed and five new dwelling units and a swimming pool built.
In other planning news yesterday from the Development Applications Board, the Bermuda Biological Station for Research (BBSR) in St. George's got the go-ahead to install three prefabricated mobile office units.
The units must be removed by April 5, 2002, and will be used in the meantime to house the International Centre for Ocean and Human Health as there is not enough space in the Station's main building.
BBSR has received permission from planning for a new building at its site on Ferry Reach but it will not be completed for some time.
The Reefs in Southampton has received approval to build 16 dormitory units, which will be used for staff housing and storage, and parking for 25 cycles.
APPEAL FOR WITNESSES CRM Appeal for witnesses Central CID is appealing for any witnesses to the armed robbery at Empire Grocery on April 17 to come forward.
Officers are particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have seen the culprit before he entered the store and when he was chased away by store employees.
The culprit fled east on North Shore toward the Crown Hill Lane area before escaping.
He is described as being brown skinned, approximately 18 years old, five feet, seven inches tall and slimly built.
He was wearing a navy blue hooded sweat-top with a hood over his head and matching pants.

FORMER RECTOR DIES OBT Former rector dies A long-time minister of the Church of Scotland who served in Bermuda died on April 13 at St. Charles Manor Care Home in Victoria, Canada at the age of 93.
The Rev. George Buchanan served as a minister for 47 years and also preached in Argentina, India and Scotland.
He was a popular minister at Christ Church, Warwick for many years.
He is survived by his daughter Margot and son-in-law Mervyn Olson.
TV STOLEN FROM CENTRE CRM TV stolen from centre Police officers are investigating a pair of break-ins which occurred in Pembroke and the theft of a compact disc (CD) player from a parked car in Sandys.
Someone broke into the Physical Abuse Centre on Mount Hill in Pembroke between April 20 and 21 through an insecure window and then forced open a door to an office and removed a television from there.
And a glass pane on the Washington Lane side of the Washington Mall was smashed and the Matchbox Store in the mall was burgled. The incident was discovered early yesterday morning but it has not yet been determined if anything was stolen.
A portable CD player was reported stolen from a car parked on Somerset Road.
The complainant said the white Mitsubishi was entered some time between 6.30 p.m. and 6.45 p.m. on April 20.
ASSAULT REPORTED CRM Assault reported Police officers are investigating a report of an assault which allegedly took place at the Liberty Theatre at 7 p.m. on April 20.
The complainant said he became involved in an argument with the suspect over a personal matter.
The suspect then became verbally abusive and began to slap him in the face while they were in the elevator, he continued.
The suspect then allegedly gripped him around the neck and struck him in the ribs with his knee.
