Teenager charged with attempted murder

Micah Straw, of Palmetto Road, Devonshire, was also accused of; causing grievous bodily harm to Andre Rawlins, of Devonshire, with intent to do bodily harm; causing unlawful bodily harm; and possessing an offensive weapon, a crowbar.
Straw, who was represented by Mark Pettingill, was not required to enter a plea.
Senior Magistrate Will Francis remanded him in custody until his bail hearing today.
Straw and another man, who was not before the court yesterday, were arrested last Sunday in connection with the incident which left 36-year-old Mr. Rawlins in critical condition in King Edward VII Memorial Hospital's intensive care unit.
Mr. Rawlins -- who suffered severe head injuries and a broken jaw -- was found lying in a pool of blood outside Fat Man's Cafe, off Palmetto Road, around 3 a.m. last Sunday.
