The coronavirus testing station at Southside will be closed to walk-ins and the general community on Sunday, the Ministry of Health said today.

A spokeswoman told residents that it will be open for “traveller testing only”.

She added: “This is to accommodate travellers and, in particular, an influx of visitors who have arrived in Bermuda for the Bermuda Championship PGA event.”

Residents who would like a coronavirus test can attend the drive-through in St David’s today or on Saturday. The schedule and more information can be found at www.gov.bm/coronavirus-get-tested

The spokeswoman said: “Some bookings – non-travellers – have already been made and the Ministry of Health will honour those but will not be taking any further bookings for Sunday.

“The following Sunday, November 1, testing at Southside will resume as normal.”

The ministry received 588 coronavirus test results yesterday and all were clear.

Bermuda has had 188 confirmed cases and four are active but none of those is in hospital.

Nine people with Covid-19 have died and 175 people have recovered from the coronavirus.

Bermuda’s country status is “sporadic cases”. The seven-day average of our real time reproduction number is less than 1.
