Halloween pumpkin competition at school
School pupils decorated 108 Halloween pumpkins as part of a school competition.
Suzanne DeCouto, the director of advancement at Mount St Agnes in Hamilton, said: “The kids are doing a lot more things at home this year so it was a good family thing to do.
“They loved it, you can tell by the number of entries we got in – it was overwhelming.
“The table was full of pumpkins made by children from elementary to middle school and their creativity really came out. It was wonderful and the kids loved to stop by and look at them.”
The winning pumpkin was of a rapper complete with cap, shades and gold chain by 12-year-old Tyler DoCouto who won a goodie bag.
Other entries, which were made by the children at home and brought to school, included pumpkins decorated as a butterfly, a football and a pumpkin made out of wine corks.
The pumpkins were on display at Mount St Agnes Academy in Pembroke for the youngsters to enjoy and photographs will be posted on the school’s Facebook page.
