Author Joan K Aspinall has donated dozens of copies of her book The Banana Leaf Faerie Elf as part of a Christmas present to nearly a hundred families.The books were handed out to 93 families connected to the Family Centre at their annual Christmas Party, held at the Aquarium.Dr Sandy DeSilva of the Family Centre said: “When Ms Aspinall contacted be about making a donation, I became very excited. I told her that it was my daughter’s favourite book and that she carried it around all the time in the car.“It was such a lovely Bermuda treasure to give to our families during our Holiday Christmas Party. Some families had tears in their eyes when receiving the books.”The book is about a Bermuda faerie elf named BooBooBanana who is injured and rescued by Ronnie Chameau, a real life artist known for crafting banana leaf dolls.
