L?Alliance Francaise des Bermudes will be showing the French film Le Go?t des Institute at the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute at 8 p.m. The film was an Academy Award nominee for best foreign language film 2000 and has English subtitles. Tickets: Members $4 and non members $7. ( 292-6122.

Bermuda National Trust Event The Friends of Verdmont present ? Prisoners of the Boer War. A fascinating, little-known stories told by Andrew Bermingham, author of ?Bermuda Military Rarities?. Guests are welcome to bring their own (small) Boer artefacts for Mr. Bermingham to examine. The event will take place at the Verdmont Museum. Open house at 2 p.m. and the talk begins at 3 p.m. Tickets $20. Light refreshments served. Seating is limited, tickets may be reserved and purchased in advance from Waterville at 236-6483.

Bermuda Maritime Museum Local history and culture comes alive at Bermuda Maritime Museum, inside the great fortress Keep of the Old Royal Naval Dockyard. St. David?s Island Historical Society Carter House tour, Southside. Carter House is believed to be the oldest dwelling in St. David?s, surviving for more than 350 years, mainly in its original state. Tucker House: Mid-18th century home on Water Street, St. George?s. Commemorates prominent Tucker family, whose members include a once-resident president of Bermuda?s Governor?s Council, an important Williamsburg judge and a US Treasurer. Displays include exemplary collection of 18th-century portraits, furniture and silver (most of which descended through the Tucker family) and archaeological exhibit showcasing results of an extensive three-year excavation in the basement.
