Palm trees are stolen
on Thursday night.
One has been recovered after the thief -- or thieves -- dropped it in Saltus Grammar School's field but the others are still missing.
And Corporation secretary Roger Sherratt is appealing to anyone who knows of the whereabouts of the trees to contact the Corporation or Police as soon as possible.
He said he expected that the person -- or people -- who took the trees would likely try to sell or give them away so he hoped people would be on the lookout for them.
Mr. Sherratt said it appeared that the thief -- or thieves -- drove a van or truck onto the field at Saltus which adjoins the Corporation's nursery and took away the trees.
