Church seniors will have first choice of places at the eight-resident home, said church chief financial officer Mr. Delbert Pearman. They are hoping to attract others for daily health and fitness activities.

The plan to build the facility on First Avenue in Devonshire is being underwritten by church members, said Mr. Pearman.

The DAB requires that the property, Virginia Cottage, be landscaped and provide space for parking and manoeuvring of vehicles.

A building permit has not yet been issued.
