Get ready for an exciting Easter weekend RED Party

The RED Party had a body painting stand set up outside

To kick off the Easter weekend's party scene Unité is hosting another RED Party and an Easter Saturday bash at the same locale.

Unité Productions' event planner Belcario Thomas spoke about what was in store for revellers and some of the cool giveaways.

When ask what differed between this RED Party and the last one, Mr. Thomas responded: "Well what we try to do at our annual themed events is to bring great, like minded people from different backgrounds together for good times.

"People have responded to that and you'll find some of the more diversely and widely supported parties via Unité, which is a great platform for partygoers to come together.

"This year we're adding a few more touches with great music, great performances, drink specials, giveaways and all at a beautiful location, which we host G Spot Ultra Lounge on Saturdays."

So, for what he as dubbed as the Good Thursday holiday and Easter Saturday, they'll be putting on a couple of great parties to bring it all in.

"We're excited to have guest DJs Bitzy and Fozzy this Easter Saturday at our weekly G Spot Ultra Lounge hosting House Party Anthems set, plus mainstream Top 40 tunes which should be a solid party going from 11 pm - 3 am on March 22nd."

SalsaMania Productions and Unité Promotions have always had a close affiliation, because they have a complimentary offering, said Mr. Thomas.

"This year we decided to partner up with this event bringing some Latin Fusion," he said.

"Also, early on there'll be a Gibbons Company spring fashion show collection ending with giveaways from CellularONE, Gibbons Company and M·A·C."

Asked whether there would be dance lessons for people wanting to take part in the salsa, Mr. Thomas' response was: "Early on downstairs there'll be a mix of performances as people mingle and jump in with the occasional lessons from the instructors on hand.

"Later on, SalsaMania takes over the top floor where there will be full on Salsa, Merunge, Bachatta and more to get your groove on!"

DJs OB1 with guest DJ Chubb will run the downstairs club with top Ministry of Sound Progressive House and Dance anthems and remixes of the latest clubbing tunes from the vault ranging from Rock to Hip Hop.

Mr. Thomas explained that CellularONE would be offering all guests to the RED party a Cellutini cocktail upon entry.

"The cocktail is made with Havana Club Rum, which fits our Latin fusion theme," he said.

"The gorgeously done up M·A·C models will be offering up the cocktails and light hor d'ouerves from Greg's Steakhouse in addition to some cool red glowing necklace giveaways."

As with all of Unité's parties, one can rest assured that some of the profits go to support the less fortunate or ailing, and this party is no different.

"In 2008, the WHITE party raised over $5,500 with Fairmont Hamilton Princess to benefit The Agape House, in honour of my father Fred Thomas who spent his last days there," explained the party planner.

"The PINK party raised $5,000 with Snorkel Park to benefit the TB Cancer Association in honour of my mother Clara Thomas who passed early because of this disease.

"This year we're giving back and raising awareness to the HIV/Aids affliction if only because it has seemingly fallen out of fashion, as a serious concern that even Bermuda needs to deal with and ought to continue to be pushed to the forefront.

"We'll be doing that through the heralded M·A·C AIDS Fund, which to date has raised over $100 million dollars by donating every cent of the selling price of the VIVA GLAM lipstick range. "Unité and SalsaMania Productions will be donating proceeds of the ticket sales to this cause, which will benefit the Star Foundation, which is supported by the M·A·C AIDS Fund."

Regarding ticket sales going in comparison to other coloured parties, Mr. Thomas said: "With so much cool stuff going on in this event with great music in a beautiful venue and two floors to party on, this is what makes the Unité Promotion's G Spot Ultra Lounge Saturdays the top weekly party on the scene at the moment.

"I'd have to thank fellow promoters Zodiac Inc., Barmuvinjam, Stallion Productions, Sabor Dance School, Tuff Dogs and countless friends for their support in helping us make Hamilton just a little bit less boring. God knows it needs our help.

"The RED party tickets are really attractively priced at $35 in advance for three DJs, two floors to party on, a complimentary drink, fashion show, giveaways, complimentary nibbles, and all on a holiday weekend at a downtown venue.

"I couldn't think of a better bargain."

Tickets $35, are available at CellularONE, M·A·C, Greg's Steakhouse, Music World, and Sabor Dance School.

Tickets are $50 at the door of Grey's Steakhouse, which is located on the corner of Church and Parliament Streets, in Hamilton.
