Bermuda Briefing to be opened today
relating specifically to the local market.
The Bermuda Market Briefing at the Princess Hotel is being opened by Premier the Hon. Sir John Swan this morning and closed tomorrow night by the Finance Minister, the Hon. David Saul.
A total of 125 delegates are expected to attend, including more than 30 from the New York chapter of the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters.
Former director and executive vice president of Johnson & Higgins, Mr. Richard Meyer, is to speak on how the Bermuda market fits in the world.
He is expected to comment on changes in international markets and if Bermuda should be changing as well new insurance regulations.
This morning's opening session on Bermuda regulations includes comment from Mr. Alan Levin, managing director, insurance rating services for Standard & Poors.
One of the last sessions Tuesday afternoon, New Market Developments, includes input from Mr. John Stites, president of Chubb Atlantic Indemnity Ltd., Appleby Spurling & Kempe partner Mr. David Doyle for Shoreline Mutual and TOPS Insurance president Mr. Doyle Stephens.
Also speaking at that session is ACE Ltd. senior vice president Mr. Charles Rudd, discussing the satellite launch programmes he writes.
Other sessions focus on topics such as, The Bermuda Captive Market, Bermuda Brokerage and Financial Services, Excess Liability Markets, Bermuda Finite Risk Markets, Property CAT Reinsurance Markets and a final session on Why Choose Bermuda.
