Skipper Tucker slams second ton
Southampton 257-4 Smith's 86 Skipper Kamen Tucker struck his second century of the season -- this time a knock of 125 not out to go with the unbeaten 110 against Warwick two weeks ago -- as Southampton scored a comfortable 171-run win over Smith's at Southampton Oval.
Tucker, opening the innings, stroked 17 fours and a six as he and number four batsman Jason Williams added exactly 200 for the third wicket in rescuing the team from 39-2. Williams fell for 91 which included 11 fours and a six, by which time Southampton had built a winning total.
Justin Green was the pick of the Smith's bowlers with two for 32 from seven overs. Smith's could only manage 86 in reply in 25 overs with captain Shawn Dunkley high man on 37. Wayne Raynor, Eugene Stoneham and Q.Basden all took two wickets for Southampton.
St. David's 196-8 St. George's 156 Chris Foggo was another captain leading by example, but he fell four runs short of a deserved century as St. David's beat neighbours St. George's by 40 runs at Wellington Oval.
Foggo hit 10 fours and five sixes in his 96 while Shannon Raynor scored 16.
J.Burgess took four for 23 from five overs for St. George's who were led in the batting with 27 from Kori Hinds, 24 by Burgess and 21 from J.Hayward.
Raynor had three for nine from six overs.
Sandys 185 Hamilton 152 John Martin scored 42, Nasir Wade 32 and Tori Hollis 30 as Sandys beat Hamilton by 33 runs at Somerset.
David Lovell led Hamilton Parish with three for 47 while Clarence Trott took two for 31.
In the Hamilton total of 152, Stephen Outerbridge scored 43, Jim West 25 and Kujuan Simmons 16. Nasir Wade, Jermain Trott and Darren Richardson all claimed two wickets.
UNDER-12 LEAGUE Southampton 59-2 Smith's 51 Failure by any of their batsmen to reach double figures cost Smith's victory against Southampton as they fell just eight runs short of the Southampton total at Harris Bay.
In the Smith's total there were 26 extras as Zui Darrell was top batsman with nine. G.Outerbridge claimed three for four from four overs and R.Simmons, Q.Basden and Rodney Grimes two wickets each for Southampton who were led in the batting by Gavin Manders' 26.
Hamilton 126-5 Sandys 93 Andre Manders hit 28 and then claimed two for 20 to lead Hamilton to a 33-run win over Sandys at Warwick Secondary.
Brandon Trott supported Manders in the batting with 23 while Reid Trott scored 18 not out. In the bowling for Hamilton, Christino Smith claimed three for 31 and Trott two for 13 to support Manders. J.Hubbard was top man for Sandys with 21 while C.Robertson scored 17 and Shiroy Fubler 16.
