Logic Communications Ltd said its core network remained operational throughout Hurricane Gonzalo with no loss of service for wired internet service customers. Although Logic’s internet service remains operational, service to customers is dependent on its access provider’s (CableVision or BTC) service and the restoration of power to their homes.

Meanwhile TeleBermuda International (TBi) reported that it had experienced no outages, and 100 per cent service availability on its internet and voice platforms as of this morning.

“We understand some customers may be experiencing issues resulting from loss of local access, but when local service is restored, an equipment reboot should bring everything back online,” TBi stated.

TBi’s technical helpdesk can be reached at 278-2460 or at support@telebermuda.com.

Logic’s wireless network sustained severe damage with 67 per cent of base stations damaged by the hurricane. This left approximately 50 per cent of wireless customers without internet service representing less than one per cent of all Logic internet service customers, the company said.

As of yesterday, Logic’s engineering team had restored 87 per cent of the wireless network. Vicki Coelho, Logic’s chief executive officer, said: “Logic’s robust core network was able to withstand the impact of Hurricane Gonzalo giving our customers the ability to stay up-to-date with news, and stay connected to love ones both here and abroad.

“Our wireless network did sustain severe damage but Logic’s engineers have worked diligently to restore service and will complete restoration as soon as possible.”
