Chewstick celebrates 11th anniversary with city shows

It’s a new year and what better way to celebrate than hearing from some of the best and brightest talents the Island has to offer?

The Chewstick Foundation will be honouring its 11th anniversary by hosting a multi-genre concert event at The Earl Cameron Theatre at City Hall tonight and tomorrow starting at 8pm.

Featured will be local performers like Lloyd Holder, K.A.S.E., Graham Pewter, Neil Burnie, Amora Rose, Walton Brown, Dem Biez, ChewSLAM, Larrita Adderley, Bermuda Squad, Tiffany Paynter, Stephan Johnstone and more.

Organiser Deidra-Lee Bean said each night would feature a different line-up of artists in a relaxed format and introduce audiences to the range of talented musicians, singers, rappers and storytellers who have contributed to Chewstick’s work throughout the years.

She said: “Attendees will have the opportunity to meet fellow supporters, purchase artwork, EPs, chap books, CDs and other items produced by local artists, as well as to meet and interact with individuals and organisations that have worked with The Chewstick Foundation over the years.”

Tickets to the 11th Anniversary Show are $20 for students, $30 for adults and $100 for patrons and are available at Kit & Caboodle on Reid Street and The Chewstick Headquarters on Court Street, or online at www.ptix.bm.
