Town pinning hopes on Kyle's return
Kyle Lightbourne plans to return to a Macclesfield Town side whose season is fast reaching crisis point.
Second from bottom of the entire football league and without a manager after the departure of Gil Prescott, the Third Division team are in dire straits.
With just three wins from 16 games, only goal difference has prevented the Silkmen from propping up the entire professional structure.
Add to that the fact they have had to do without star striker Lightbourne, pictured right, and you can understand why the fans are getting jittery.
Although he has only scored twice since joining the club at the beginning of the season, the Bermudian's all-round play has been a source for praise.
However, he limped off in the away win against Bristol Rovers and has missed the last four games.
Since then Macclesfield have slumped to consecutive defeats and his absence appears to have affected the way the team plays.
Caretaker-manager, Kevin Keen, a close friend and former teammate of Lightbourne's at Stoke City hopes to be able to recall the big frontman for the clash with Carlisle United on Saturday.
United are only one place above Macclesfield and the match represents a good chance for the team to halt their run of losses.
Said Keen: "We have missed Kyle, there's no doubt about it. He's a big prescence up front and works hard in defence as well.
"He's down at the moment because he wants to contribute out on the pitch. He should be back for Saturday."
