Jamaica Police making progress
Information is flooding in about the murder of Bermudian Vaughn Fubler in Jamaica.
Mr. Fubler, 56, from Devonshire, was asleep when an intruder shot him in the back of the neck on Sunday, according to Jamaica Police.
It is thought his 32-year-old Jamaican girlfriend, Sherene Henry, was killed seconds later when she was shot in the back following a brief struggle.
The murderer then escaped before the bodies were discovered in the home in the quiet St. Mary's District in northern Jamaica by Mr. Fubler's caretaker on Monday at 9 a.m. The time of the killing has not been revealed.
Deputy Supt. Robert White told The Royal Gazette: "The investigation is ongoing, we are going through all of the possibilities and information. A number of statements have already been made and more information is coming in."
Dep. Supt. White declined to say what the possible motive could be, saying it would be unwise to comment during an ongoing investigation.
But it is deemed unlikely to be the result of a burglary. Mr. Fubler's Toyota Corolla, which was parked at the front of the yard, appeared to have been broken into and the trunk and driver's door left open.
Mr. Fubler was a well-liked and respected employee at the Shell Gas Station on St.John's Road, Pembroke who loved to spend many hours deep sea fishing in his boat.
