Thieves do restaurant dis-service
variety of goods before the Cup Match holiday.
Police yesterday reported that someone entered the storeroom of the restaurant on Victoria Street last Wednesday night and removed two cases of Becks beer, two cases off Heineken beer, one case of Italian beer, five bags of shrimp, ten pounds of scallop, one case of lamb chops, three cases of wine and two cases of soda.
Police were investigating the incident.
A Somerset woman also reported the theft of her tent last Wednesday.
The maroon and grey three-person tent was stolen from her front yard between 7 a.m. and 11.45. a.m. The value of the tent was $100.
A caretaker of a Cobb's Hill Road, Warwick residence reported to Police a break-in there.
Sometime during the Cup Match holiday someone broke into the storeroom of the residence and stole chicken, steaks, lobster and beer.
And a female resident of a home at Tribe Road 1 in Warwick said someone gained entry into the house and searched it with the help of candle light.
A trail of candle wax was evident throughout the house, including in the refrigerator, Police said. Apparently the person gained entry and took a candle from the hall. After searching the house the culprits dropped the candle on the floor of a bedroom and left.
A farm on Cobbs Hill Road, Paget, was also broken into and items stolen.
The incident occurred between noon on Friday and Saturday morning. A Homlite weed trimmer and a chainsaw were stolen.
A Hamilton Parish couple returned to their Clay Estate home to find it ransacked early on Sunday morning. The female occupant's wallet was also stolen. There were no details on its contents.
