Gymnasts enjoy medal feast
Bermuda’s gymnastics team (pictured above) will look to add to their impressive medal haul when they return to action at the Island Games in Jersey today.The Islanders won 14 medals on the opening day of the biennial competition on Thursday.In the individual events, Bermuda earned four golds, two silvers and five bronzes. In the team events, the juniors won a gold, while the seniors claimed silver.In the senior division, Kaisey Griffith won gold medals in the bar and the beam and a bronze on the floor, while Morgan Beckles won bronze on the bars.Tabytha Hofheins took bronze on the beam, while Sydney Mason earned a bronze on the vault.In the junior division, Clara James was also a bronze winner in the floor exercise, Samantha Soares took bronze on the beam and while Sadia Wilson, Sadia Wilson and Tais Burgess-Allen all finished with silver medals.The gymnasts will be in action today in the individual optional competition.
