Customised nature trip to Bermuda will benefit Maine Botanical Gardens

Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens in the US is offering nature lovers a customised visit to Bermuda next year.

Organised by Patricia West, a resident from Southport, proceeds of the trip will benefit the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, a non-profit organisation building Maine?s first botanical garden on 248 acres of land in Boothbay, Maine.

The planned trip, between April 18 and 23 next year, will include accommodation at Cambridge Beaches, walks through Bermuda?s Botanical Gardens, an opportunity to meet Governor, Sir John Vereker and visits to homes of several members of Bermuda?s Garden Club, Rose Society and Botanical Garden Society.

Mrs. West said the group would also be received at a cocktail function at the Bermuda Arts Centre at the Royal Naval Dockyard during a special botanical-theme exhibit in honour of the visit.
