Air arrivals affected by storm
A string of airlines were forced to cancel their services to Bermuda today in the wake of Tropical Storm Fay.
A total of seven flights were cancelled from the east coast of the US and Canada earlier.
But this evening’s American Airlines and Delta services from New York and Miami are expected to arrive as scheduled.
While tonight’s British Airways service is running five hours late for reasons unconnected with the storm, and is expected to leave Bermuda later tonight.
The terminal building at LF Wade International reopened at 5:30pm.
Airport General Manager, Aaron Adderley, said: “Our cleaning contractors, Bright Brigade, did an exceptional job in completing the massive clean up effort. Our ability to reopen the terminal hinged largely on their efforts alone.“
Earlier today JetBlue’s New York and Boston flights were cancelled.
WestJet’s flight from Toronto was cancelled along with Air Cananda’s Toronto service.
US Airways’ flight from Philadelphia was cancelled and Delta’s Boston and Atlanta flights to Bermuda were also cancelled in the wake of last night’s storm.
