`Vacation experience' gets boost at Cambridge Beaches
A cottage colony's move to drum up business during the winter months was unveiled last week.
The Aquarian Baths at Cambridge Beaches was opened by Frascati Hotel Co. Ltd.
president Thaddeus D.P. Trott.
"It is our hope that this building will enable us to materially increase our shoulder and winter business,'' he told invited guests.
"If we can reduce our losses during these months, and even break even in some of them, we will have fulfilled the objective behind its construction.
"In short, we have created a tremendous added value for our guests at a time when value is the essential element of the vacation experience.'' The building is an all weather facility featuring a wide range of facilities and activities.
The floor area covers 10,000 square feet and has been designed to fit in with the Bermudian cottage style of Cambridge Beaches by John Kaufmann.
Upstairs is the Seven Seas Solarium which includes an indoor pool with retractable glass roof, an exercise room and gym, a swimex pool for swimming against a current, a whirlpool, The Cafe, The Shop, terraces and changing rooms.
Downstairs is the 5,000 square foot Ocean Spa which features a sauna, steam room, more changing rooms, a counselling room, a relaxation area and a hair and beauty facility.
It will be staffed by Europeans, operated by Bersalon Limited, and will offer a wide range of treatments including some not available in the US.
