Last session of Parliament for 2004

The House of Assembly will sit today for the last time this year, Government whip Ottiwell Simmons said last night. It will not reconvene until sometime in February, 2005.

Members will deal with five pieces of legislation and, if there is time, debate a motion moved by Shadow Works and Engineering Minister Patricia Gordon-Pamplin deploring the controversial Coco Reef lease.

Legislation to be dealt with includes the Customs Tariff Amendment (2) Act 2004, the Land Tax Amendment Act 2004, the Rent Increases (Domestic Premises) Control Amendment Act 2004, the Employment Amendment Act 2004 and the Maritime Marriage Amendment Act 2004.
