Invisible Policemen at work
efforts to reduce speeding.
Conspicuously-parked Police cars without drivers have slowed motorists this week at East Broadway and on Middle Road near Giant Foods.
Yesterday, Deputy Commissioner Mr. Michael Mylod confirmed the strategy to The Royal Gazette .
"It is part of the Bermuda Police strategy in reducing accidents, especially those caused by excessive speed, to occasionally place marked Police vehicles in known accident spots with a view to reminding drivers of their obligations and responsibilities as citizens, especially as regards the safety of other road users,'' Mr. Mylod said in a prepared statement.
Police spokesman P.c. Gary Venning said it was hoped the sight of a Police car would make people "think of what they should be doing.''
