January 26, 2011Dear Sir,My faith in Bermudians has dropped, if The Royal Gazette newspaper stories are indeed correct. I see within the same week reports of our debt with all things considered, pensions and the like, that we are billions in debt.I also see polls that show faith in the PLP and Paula Cox are also strong. Hello? If a man robs you, will you then invite him over to house-sit for you? No! So why do people wish to continue to keep a totally ill-equipped government team in power?This economic downturn cannot be just scoffed off as a recession. It is due to the PLP not listening to economists years before this happened to save and prepare. In order to get out of any recession, you need a strong fiscally responsible government; which we do not have! Everyone wants to use Dr Brown as a scapegoat for the millions of wasted and unaccounted for money, but Paula Cox allowed it. She was and is the Finance Minister. She may be a very nice person, but clearly she cannot run a country’s money.Stop voting on personalities and race, people. Vote on experience, knowledge, foresight, and plain old hard work.ROBERT DAVIESDevonshire
