The Masterworks Off The Wall Christmas sale is a bittersweet occasion for the organisation.

It will be the very last event held in their current location on Bermuda House Lane.

The show runs from Saturday until mid-January when the gallery will close its doors for the final time.

As part of Masterworks? Christmas celebrations, the gallery has gathered together an exciting and colourful extravaganza of original art for sale. Masterworks artists were asked to bring in work suitable for Christmas gift-giving and have responded with their usual enthusiasm

The Off the Wall sale of art includes work by Rhona Emmerson, Kevin Morris, Molly Smith, Jonah Jones, Kok Wan Lee, Kaern Kell, Nancy Nicholas, Robin Trimingham, Otto Trott, Christopher Marson, Chris Grimes and others.

To kick off this celebration, Vernon Clarke will be on hand from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to draw portraits that are affordable, one-of-a-kind Christmas gifts. He can draw portraits from life or from your favourite photos.

During the day, craftsman Milton Hill Sr., will introduce some of his new designs including Bermuda cedar jewellery boxes and letter openers.

Jennifer Keats will make her delicate sea glass jewellery using the treasures she has gathered the Island?s beaches and Deirdre Furtado will demonstrate the traditional art Bermuda Banana doll making.

Ms Furtado, who is also the gallery manager, said she was having mixed feelings about this final event at Bermuda Lane.

?This will be a bittersweet occasion as it will be the last Christmas Masterworks will spend at this location.

?I have had the time of my life working here and I?ve made some good friends.

?In 2001, I also had my own show as part of the Artists Up Front Street series. And I have learned a lot and have had the pleasure of working with the most enthusiastic and interested volunteers I have come across.?

Masterworks hopes to find a new location in Hamilton. If anyone can help they should call Tom Butterfield on 236-2950.
